SN100CLS

Special alloy for hot air tinning

BALVER ZINN alloy SN100CLS (SnCu0,7Ni) is a germanium-rich variant of SN100CL for use in lead-free hot air tinning of printed circuit boards (HASL).

SN100CLS has double the germanium content of SN100CL to further reduce the oxidation of the alloy. Compared to conventional SnCu alloy, it is characterized by lower copper dissolution and a much finer microstructure. The special properties of SN100CLS allow very planar surfaces with excellent solderability even after several soldering processes. In contrast to galvanic applied metal coatings, HASL surfaces are resistant to aqueous-alkaline cleaning of defective prints in the printing process. SN100CLS surfaces are fully compatible with SAC alloys and, of course, with the high reliable SN100C®. SN100CLS surface are also suitable for lead-containing applications.
